SCANFLICK SETUP GUIDE
Set up an IPTV player on Android TV or Google TV
Check your device, then install a TV-compatible player through Google Play. This guide covers Chromecast with Google TV, Google TV Streamer, NVIDIA Shield, Sony, TCL and Hisense Android or Google TV sets, and certified Android TV boxes. Menus vary by model and version; consult your manufacturer when your screen differs.
Use player apps only with authorized, licensed content. A player and a provider account are separate things. ScanFlick lets visitors in the USA and Canada compare four Premium IPTV plan durations and send a request. No payment is taken on the website, and requests are confirmed manually on WhatsApp.

Check the Android TV OS version before choosing an app
Record your device model and OS version. Not every Sony, TCL or Hisense television uses Android TV or Google TV; check the specifications if unsure. The OS version is different from an app's version.
- Open Settings from the home screen. On Sony remotes with a Quick Settings button, press it and select Settings; otherwise use Home and find Settings.
- On Google TV, look under System, then About, for Android TV OS Version or Version. On other Android TV menus, the route may be Device Preferences, About, Version, or simply About, Version. These are model-dependent alternatives, not interchangeable instructions for every box.
- On Google TV, check for system updates under Settings, System, About, System update, then Check for update. Install available updates. For Shield and other manufacturers' devices, follow their model-specific update instructions if the labels differ.
Check box certification and avoid unknown-source installs
An inexpensive box advertised as Android is not necessarily a certified Android TV device. Google warns that uncertified devices may have security, update and app-function problems. Ask the manufacturer about Play Protect certification before using an unfamiliar box.
Google's general certification-check route is Google Play Store, profile icon, Settings, About. If your TV's store exposes that information, look for the certification status there; remote-controlled layouts can differ. If you cannot find it, consult the manufacturer rather than assuming certification.
Certification and Google Play Protect's harmful-app protection are separate. Turning off Play Protect does not fix an uncertified device. Keep protections enabled. Do not enable unknown-source installation because a player is missing from the store, or follow instructions to bypass security warnings.
Tip: Certification is a device check, not a promise that a particular player or provider will work.
Install a TV player from Google Play
Use the storefront on the TV itself rather than choosing a phone app that happens to have the same name. TV availability can depend on the device and country. An internet connection and a Google Account are needed for installation.
TiviMate IPTV Player, published by Armobsoft FZE, was listed in Google Play when this guide was reviewed. Its listing identifies Android TV and remote-control support, including M3U playlists. ScanFlick is not affiliated with TiviMate, and availability can change. Any app purchase or upgrade is separate from a ScanFlick request.
- On Google TV, open the Apps tab and search for the player. Alternatively, use the home screen's Search option and type its name.
- On Android TV, open Apps and then Google Play Store, where available. Use the store's search control. Older home screens may display the store directly among the apps.
- Check the exact app name and publisher on the listing. Read its setup-format requirements and any purchase information before selecting Install.
- After installation, open the player from the Apps screen or Your apps row. If it is not listed for your TV, ask about another supported store-listed player instead of downloading an unknown-source installer.
Enter the supplied provider login or playlist carefully
Players have different login screens. Follow the selected player's documentation and your supplied setup format. This checklist is not a universal menu path. A player's account is separate from provider access.
- Confirm whether you received a playlist address or instructions for a provider login supported by the chosen player. If the format does not match the app, stop and ask which setup method to use.
- For an M3U playlist, use the player's documented playlist-import option and enter the complete supplied address. Preserve punctuation and capitalization, and check for accidental spaces at the beginning or end. Do not use a website homepage address as a substitute.
- If the player supports the provider-login method you were given, enter the supplied account details only into the appropriate fields inside that player. Your Google Account is not the provider login. Never send anyone your Google password or share provider passwords in messages or screenshots.
- Save the configuration using the app's on-screen controls and let it finish processing before changing other settings. If a separate guide-data address was supplied, follow the player's instructions for that field; do not invent one.
- Test playback of content you are authorized to use. If setup fails, note the error text and the player version without exposing credentials or a full private playlist address.
Compare Ethernet and Wi-Fi before changing player settings
Check the network before blaming the player. On Google TV Streamer, open All settings, then Network & Internet. On Chromecast with Google TV, use the account icon, All settings, then Network & Internet. Other TVs and boxes may place the network controls elsewhere.
Ethernet gives the device a wired connection to the router and removes its reliance on the local Wi-Fi link. Use a built-in Ethernet port where your model has one, or an adapter approved for that device. Chromecast with Google TV has no Ethernet port and requires a compatible adapter, obtained separately.
For Wi-Fi, Google recommends a 5 GHz connection when the router supports it. Check the connection where the TV actually sits, and move the router closer if practical. Keep streaming devices clear of nearby cables and electronics that can interfere. Follow the router manufacturer's restart instructions when troubleshooting.
Fix missing apps, failed setup and playback problems
Separate store, account and playback problems. Retyping a playlist will not restore a missing store app. Change one thing at a time so you can tell what helped.
After a ScanFlick request is confirmed, the team shares the setup details to use and can answer setup questions on WhatsApp.
- For a missing app, check the TV platform and regional availability with the app developer. A phone listing does not establish TV availability.
- For a rejected login or playlist, compare the supplied format with the player's requirements and recheck the entry for spaces or missing characters. Ask about the correct setup method rather than repeatedly guessing credentials.
- For playback trouble, check Network & Internet, try another app you already use to compare connectivity, and restart the device. Google TV's documented restart route is Settings, System, Restart; other devices may differ.
- Check for system updates and player updates through Google Play. If the app remains unusable, Google TV offers Settings, Apps, See all apps, then the selected app and Clear data. Treat this as a later step because it can require entering your setup again.
- Do not jump to a factory reset: Google warns that it erases device data. If you need help, describe the model, OS version, player and exact error without attaching private access details.
Android TV & Google TV: common questions
Do Android TV and Google TV use the same setup menus?
Not always. Both offer TV apps through Google Play, but Google TV commonly uses System and About for device information, while Android TV models may use Device Preferences or About directly. The player's own setup screens also depend on its version.
Why can I find a player on my phone but not on my TV?
A phone app may not have a TV version. Google Play availability also depends on the device and region. Search on the TV and check the developer's supported platforms rather than assuming a mobile listing applies to your television.
Should I disable Play Protect to use an Android TV box?
No. Disabling harmful-app protection does not resolve missing device certification. If a box reports that it is uncertified, contact its manufacturer. Do not bypass security warnings to follow an installation guide.
Does installing the player complete my ScanFlick request?
No. Installing a player and requesting a plan are separate steps. ScanFlick takes no payment on the website, and its team confirms requests manually on WhatsApp. Use the setup details shared after confirmation rather than treating an installed app as account access.
