SCANFLICK SETUP GUIDE

How to set up an IPTV player on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

Start by separating three things: your Apple device, the player app, and the streaming provider's setup details. Installing a player does not confirm a provider request or supply those details. Use apps only with authorized, licensed content, and check the app's own requirements before installing it.

For viewers in the USA and Canada, ScanFlick offers four Premium IPTV plan durations to compare and request. The website takes no payment; the team confirms requests manually on WhatsApp. This guide explains the device preparation and setup choices without assuming that a particular player will work on every Apple device.

Check iOS, iPadOS or tvOS before choosing a player

Note your installed software version before comparing it with a player's App Store requirements. A newer app may require software your older device cannot install. Menu labels and available updates can differ by model and software release; use the options actually shown on your device.

  1. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, select General, then Software Update. Read the installed software version and whether an update is available.
  2. Before updating iPhone or iPad, make a backup, connect to power and join Wi-Fi. Follow the update screen's instructions if you choose to install an available update.
  3. On an Apple TV box, open Settings, select General, then About. Look for the tvOS version. To check available updates, return to Settings, select System, then Software Updates.

Install a player from the iPhone or iPad App Store

Use the App Store only for this setup. Read the listing for device compatibility and the developer's explanation of supported account or playlist inputs. Do not assume that an app described as a video player accepts your provider's particular setup method. App availability can change and can differ between regional stores.

  1. Open the App Store on the device you will use. Select Search and find the player you intend to install.
  2. Check the developer identity, compatibility information and any app purchase or subscription terms before proceeding. The player's terms are separate from your provider request.
  3. Select Get or the displayed purchase button and complete the device's authentication prompts yourself. If the button says Open, the app is already downloaded.
  4. Open the player and read its setup help before entering provider details.

Tip: Keep your Apple Account password private. It is not your streaming-provider login.

Install directly on an Apple TV box with tvOS

The Apple TV app on a television is not the same thing as an Apple TV hardware box running tvOS. Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD support App Store downloads. Apple TV third generation does not have the App Store and cannot install new player apps.

  1. On a supported Apple TV box, open the App Store from the Home Screen.
  2. Search for the player and check its listing on Apple TV itself. An iPhone or iPad version does not establish that a tvOS version is available.
  3. Select Get or the displayed purchase button, follow the onscreen prompts, then open the installed app.

Enter only the provider details your player supports

There is no universal account-entry screen across players. Use your chosen developer's instructions together with the setup method your provider supplies. Do not substitute an Apple Account login, guess a server address, or create missing fields yourself.

  1. Check whether the supplied setup uses a provider account or a playlist URL. Confirm that the player documents support for that method before adding anything.
  2. For an account, locate the app's documented login screen. Enter the supplied account details yourself into the corresponding fields; use a server address only if the instructions require one.
  3. For a playlist URL, locate the app's documented URL-entry screen. Copy the complete supplied address without shortening it or changing its ending. Remove accidental spaces outside the address.
  4. Use the app's documented save or load action. If it reports an error, record the message before changing anything else and recheck the selected input method.

Tip: Treat login details and playlist URLs as private. Never send passwords in a support chat. Hide sensitive fields and addresses in screenshots.

Use AirPlay from iPhone or iPad when supported

AirPlay is an optional route to an Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible smart TV. Some video apps do not support it, so neither video streaming nor screen mirroring should be treated as a guaranteed workaround. Check the app's own guidance.

  1. For Apple's standard wireless setup, connect the iPhone or iPad and receiving TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Start an authorized video in the player. If the app supports AirPlay, use its AirPlay control and select the TV. Some apps place this control behind another button.
  3. For screen mirroring, open Control Center and select Screen Mirroring, then choose the TV. On current iPhones and iPads, swipe down from the upper-right corner; older iPhones may use a swipe up from the bottom.
  4. If an AirPlay passcode appears on the TV, enter it on your iPhone or iPad. To finish mirroring, return to Control Center, select Screen Mirroring, then Stop Mirroring.

Check Apple TV Wi-Fi or supported Ethernet

On Apple TV, open Settings, then Network to check your connection or join Wi-Fi. Ethernet is an option only if your model has the physical port. Connect a cable between that port and your router; Apple TV automatically uses Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.

With Ethernet connected, the Wi-Fi connection option is not shown. Disconnect the cable if you want to return to Wi-Fi, then allow the network options to refresh. For wireless reception, avoid metal obstructions between the box and router. Keep them nearby, but do not place Apple TV directly on the router.

Separate player errors from connection problems

For a rejected login or playlist, first check the input method and copied details. Do not repeatedly guess credentials. If the app cannot accept the supplied method, consult its developer's documentation rather than trying unrelated settings.

For Apple TV Wi-Fi errors, open Settings, Network, Wi-Fi, select the current network and choose Forget Network. Return to Network and reconnect. You can restart the box through Settings, System, Restart. Check the router and modem are powered on before retrying.

If AirPlay does not appear, recheck the shared Wi-Fi network and the player's AirPlay support. For setup questions, describe your device model, software version, player name and exact error without exposing passwords or playlist addresses.

iPhone, iPad & Apple TV: common questions

Can I use the same player on iPhone and Apple TV?

Only if the developer offers a compatible version for each device. Search the App Store on each one and read its requirements. Do not assume availability, account settings or purchase terms transfer between iOS, iPadOS and tvOS.

Why is there no App Store on my Apple TV?

Apple TV third generation has no App Store. A television's Apple TV app also does not provide a tvOS App Store. Confirm whether you have an Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K hardware box before following the installation steps.

Why does my video not play on the TV through AirPlay?

Some video apps do not support AirPlay. First confirm both devices use the same Wi-Fi network, then check the player's documentation. Screen mirroring is not a promise that an otherwise unsupported video will play.

What setup information comes after a ScanFlick request?

After a ScanFlick request is confirmed, the team shares the setup details to use and can answer setup questions on WhatsApp. Keep those details private and use apps only with authorized, licensed content.
