SCANFLICK SETUP GUIDE

How to cast or mirror an IPTV player to your TV

A phone, tablet, or computer can send video to a compatible TV without installing the same player on the television. The right method depends on the receiver, your device, and the player's documented features. Use apps only with authorized, licensed content, and prefer software from official app stores.

This guide covers the connection between your devices, not player installation or account setup. ScanFlick visitors in the USA and Canada can compare four Premium IPTV plan durations and send a request. No payment is taken on the site; requests are confirmed manually on WhatsApp.

Choose app casting instead of sharing your whole screen

With an app's Google Cast or AirPlay control, you choose a video and a compatible destination. Your phone or tablet provides playback controls rather than requiring you to display its entire interface. Google Cast works with Chromecast receivers and TVs that support Google Cast, including models described as having Chromecast built-in. AirPlay needs an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible television.

Screen mirroring shares what appears on your device's display. It is useful when you need to show an interface, but it also exposes whatever else appears there. Some newer sharing prompts let you select one app or window instead. Neither method guarantees that a particular player or stream will work. Check the player's documentation and your exact TV model before choosing a method.

Connect to the same Wi-Fi and set up a Chromecast

Start by checking the Wi-Fi network name on both devices, not merely whether each has internet access. Join the same secure home network. If a Chromecast is already configured, another phone on that network does not need to repeat its initial setup. For a TV with built-in Cast, follow the manufacturer's setup instructions instead of the external-device connections below.

  1. For Chromecast third generation or earlier and Chromecast Ultra, connect the included power cable, insert the receiver into an available TV HDMI port, and connect its power supply to an outlet. Use the included supply for Ultra, not a TV USB port.
  2. Select the matching HDMI input with your TV remote so the Chromecast Welcome screen is visible. Install or update Google Home from Google Play or Apple's App Store on your phone or tablet.
  3. Turn on the phone's Bluetooth and open Google Home. Google's current setup flow uses the Home tab, Add, Device, then Scan QR Code. Follow the discovery prompts and select the device matching the number on the Welcome screen.
  4. Confirm the displayed number and choose the same secure Wi-Fi network used by your phone. Finish the on-screen prompts before opening the player. Chromecast with Google TV and other models have their own setup flows; app labels can also vary by version.

Find Google Cast inside a supported player

Update the player and confirm that its publisher documents Google Cast support. The Cast button is not in the same place in every app; look in the playback controls or consult its help. A missing button does not mean you should install an unfamiliar casting utility.

  1. Connect the phone, tablet, or computer to the receiver's Wi-Fi network. Open the supported player and find its Cast button.
  2. Select Cast, then choose the intended TV or Chromecast by name. Check the destination before starting playback, especially if several televisions appear.
  3. Use the player's playback controls after connecting. Google's Cast button changes to a solid state when connected. To finish, select Cast again and choose Disconnect.

Tip: For Cast discovery, iOS 14 or later and macOS 15 or later require Local Network access for the casting app or browser. Review the relevant permission if the receiver is missing.

Send video with AirPlay from iPhone, iPad, or Mac

AirPlay video streaming is separate from the Screen Mirroring control. Apple notes that some video apps do not support AirPlay. Start with the player's published features rather than assuming that every video can be sent to an Apple TV or compatible smart TV.

  1. Connect your Apple device and AirPlay receiver to the same Wi-Fi network. Find the video in the player and reveal its playback controls.
  2. Tap AirPlay on iPhone or iPad, or click the AirPlay icon in a supported Mac player's controls. Some apps put this option behind another button. Select the intended television from the list.
  3. To stop video streaming, open the app's AirPlay control again and select your iPhone, iPad, or Mac as the playback destination.

Tip: For Mac screen sharing instead, open Control Center in the menu bar, choose Screen Mirroring, and select the TV. Follow the prompts for mirroring, extending, or sharing a window where available; options vary by software version.

Mirror an Android device, Apple device, or computer

Google Home supports Android screen casting on Android 8.0 or later. Enable microphone permission for Google Play Services as Google instructs. In Google Home, open Favorites or Devices, hold the receiver's tile, and choose Cast, then Cast my screen. Follow Cast screen and Cast one app prompts where shown, selecting the player. The final sharing choices depend on your software. Return to the receiver tile and choose Stop mirroring when finished.

On an iPhone X or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 13 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner to open Control Center. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, swipe up from the bottom edge. Tap Screen Mirroring and select the TV. If a pairing passcode appears on the television, enter it on your own device. End with Control Center, Screen Mirroring, then Stop Mirroring.

For a computer using Chrome, open the browser's More menu, then Cast, save, and share, and Cast. Select a receiver to cast the tab. For the whole display, choose Sources, then Cast screen, before selecting the receiver. Finish with the Cast control and Stop casting. Whole-screen audio may remain on the computer; Google recommends casting the tab when you need its audio on the TV.

Check missing receivers, battery use, and screen privacy

When a receiver is absent, first confirm that you are looking for the correct technology: a Cast destination is not automatically an AirPlay destination. Recheck the Wi-Fi names, update the app or browser, and review discovery permissions. If the receiver appears but this player cannot connect, check the player's casting documentation before changing account details.

Use a strong Wi-Fi connection, especially for computer screen casting. Keep an eye on the sending device's battery during a long session. Google's current Android screen-casting guidance suggests low power mode or battery saver to help conserve power. Do not assume the player will behave identically when the phone locks or you switch apps; test that behavior before relying on it.

Before mirroring, close private messages and sensitive browser tabs. Notifications that appear on a shared screen can be visible to other viewers, so silence them or limit their previews. Stop sharing before opening account settings or entering private setup details. After a ScanFlick request is confirmed, the team shares the setup details to use and can answer setup questions on WhatsApp.

Cast to your TV: common questions

Can an iPhone cast to Chromecast without mirroring?

Yes, when the iPhone app supports Google Cast and the receiver is compatible. Connect to the same Wi-Fi network and allow Local Network access when required. Use the app's Cast button; the iPhone's Screen Mirroring control is an AirPlay route, not the Google Home Android mirroring process.

Why does my IPTV player have no Cast or AirPlay button?

The player may not support that method, or it may place the control elsewhere in its interface. Check its current documentation and updates. Screen sharing is a different feature and should not be treated as proof that the player supports sending video to a particular receiver.

Why is there a picture on the TV but sound on my computer?

Chrome warns that audio can remain on the computer when you cast the entire screen. Stop that session and try casting the playback tab instead, if suitable for your player. Check the TV volume as well; do not assume screen casting and tab casting handle audio identically.

Will mirroring show my messages and setup details?

Anything visible on a mirrored display can be seen by the TV's viewers, including notification previews. Close sensitive information first, and stop mirroring before entering private details. Where your system offers single-app or window sharing, select only the intended player rather than the entire display.
